 Orange

First you have to peel the skin

Throw it all in the garbage bin

Then you take a juicy slice

Of your orange - very nice!

Sticky on your fingers too

Good to eat when you have flu

Before you eat, say 'Bismillah'

It is food from Allah.

Grapes

Lots of little balls to munch

Grow together in a bunch

Carefully picked from the tree

Tasty grapes for you and me!

We have green grapes, black ones too,

Inside bits they look see-through!

Give some to your friends to eat

It is Allah's treat!

Banana

Peel the yellow skin - don't stop

Starting from the very top

Take the yellow jacket off

Your banana out it pops!

Bite the head off first of all

Getting smaller, first it's tall!

Throw the skin away - each bit

So your feet don't slip on it!

Plum

Purple is her skin on top

Pick it with your hand

- Don't drop!

With your little fingers, thumbs

Bite the juicy plums!

Pear

Soft and sweet and almost round

Color is a greeny-brown

Eat it with the skin or bare

It's a juicy pear!

Apple

In the garden you can see

Sitting on the apple-tree

Crunchy, round and very sweet

Is the apple that we eat!

Red on top and inside, white

Juicy when you take a bite

Crunch it all every bit

Thank Allah for it!

Fruits can remind us of Allah. He is the One who made them for us to eat. When we eat them we should be thankful to Allah. We should say "Alhamdulilah" after we eat. Allah tells us about fruits in the Qur'an.

«It is He Who sendeth down rain from the skies: with it We produce vegetation of all kinds: from some We produce green (crops), out of which We produce grain, heaped up (at harvest); out of the date-palm and its sheaths (or spathes) (come) clusters of dates hanging low and near: and (then there are) gardens of grapes, and olives, and pomegranates, each similar (in kind) yet different (in variety): when they begin to bear fruit, feast your eyes with the fruit and the ripeness thereof. Behold! in these things there are Signs for people who believe.»

Surah Al-An'aam 6: 99

What is Islam?

• About 6 Billion People around the world follow the religion of Islam
• 'Islam' is Arabic word which means both peace and submission.
• Islam guides us to how we should live a life of peace and tranquility.
• It is the guidance given by Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala), the Creator and Master of the Universe for all mankind.
• It covers all the things people do in their lifetime, and our place in the universe.
• The Sun, the moon, the stars, the mountains, trees and oceans, the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky are all obeying a Law - the Law of Allah.
• Human were created different from animals by Allah. Allah has given us intelligence, understanding and free will - the knowledge to choose between right and wrong.
